[WOZNIAK] and stockrooms of parts were not locked up from engineers that could use them, even for devices of their own design.

[WOZNIAK] When there was a horrible, um, uh, recession, Hewlett-Packard had to lay off 10 percent of the people.
[WOZNIAK] Instead of laying them off, everybody took a 10 percent pay cut.
[WOZNIAK] Like, just, you know, being a caring person for those who don't have is just No. 1 thing for me.
[WOZNIAK] Um, you know, costs, and it all boils down to, you know, making things for less cost.

Corporate culture and values
Most large companies have a set of core values (core values) they communicate to employees to shape the corporate culture (corporate culture).
My company believes strongly in corporate social responsibility. We have a strong focus on ethics.
We are determined to succeed. Nothing is impossible.
Creativity is highly valued. We're very innovative.
Humility is important. We do the best we can, and we try never to be arrogant.
We don't get too arrogant
