<Part 1>

1. 사진에 사람이 없는 경우,

=> be ~ing, be being p.p. 불가 (사람이 있고, 동작을 가해야 가능)

=> 한 문장에서 앞 부분만 맞고, 뒷 부분은 틀리는 경우가 있으므로 주의

 

2. 사진에 사람이 있는 경우,

(1) 자세

standing vs sitting (be seated)

leaning/bending

- leaning on <-> leaning against (=be propped against)

- bending + down

- leaning/bending + over

 

(2) 옷 : wearing vs putting on

상태 wearing (정답 확률 상대적으로 높음)

동작 putting on/trying on, tying/fastening + adjusting, buttoning up

adjust ~를 조절하다 ex. the man is adjusting his tie (넥타이를 고쳐매다) = the tie is being adjusted

 

rest ~를 놓다 ex. the man is resting his chin + on his hand (턱을 괴고있다)

 

(3) 눈 : looking/staring/gazing/glancing + at

ex. looking/standing/gazing/glancing + at + his reflection (거울에 비친 자기 모습을 보는 중)

examining + 상품/서류 등

studying + 책자류 (메뉴/지도) ex. the menu is being examined/studied

inspecting + 기계류

browsing + around 둘러보다

browsing + through 훑어보다

facing each other 서로를 바라보다

 

(4) 손 : holding/grabbing/grasping/gripping

point to/at ~를 가리키다

writing/taking notes/jottnig down 쓰다

writing + something + on a piece of paper

taking notes + on a piece of paper

jotting something down + on a piece of paper

4) 발 : walking/strolling c.f) stroller 유모차

running/jogging

stepping on <-> stepping off

getting on <-> getting off

riding

 

(5) 사물 : put/place/position (3p) + set 놓다 + arrange/organize 정렬하다 + stack/pile 쌓다

ex. ~~ are/have been + put/placed/positioned

occupied <-> unoccupied (자리, 의자 등)

hang => vt. ~를 걸다 vi. 걸리다

ex. TV is hanging on the wall (O) / TV is hung on the wall (O)

c.f) hanged 목을 멘

 

3. 어휘

produce = 농산물

patio = 안마당, 안뜰, 테라스

counter = 평평한 면을 가진 모호한 공간 (데스크, 부엌 싱크대 옆 카운터 kitchen counter 등)

potted plant = 화분에 심어진 식물 (pot은 화분 도자기 자체만 의미)

address = vt. 말을 전달하다

sip = (음료를) 홀짝이다, 조금씩 마시다 ex. the woman is sipping from a coffee mug

workstation = 사무실 따위에서 한 사람에게 주어지는 근로장소

awning = 차양

cast a shadow = 그림자를 드리우다
