Writing effective emails
Dear Kim,
Here are some tips for writing effective emails:
• Use bullet points.
• Make subject lines clear and concise.
• Check any attachments before you hit ‘Send.’ A good expression to use is ‘Please find attached….’
• Use the expressions ‘I’m forwarding …’ and ‘Please don’t hesitate to contact me.’
• Be polite. Avoid too much humor or sarcasm. This can easily be misunderstood.
• Be very careful with emotions. They aren’t appropriate for formal emails.
