[not before noun]
used like a preposition, followed by a noun, pronoun or number, or by the -ing form of a verb

[명사 앞에는 안 씀]
전치사처럼 쓰여 그 뒤에 명사, 대명사, 수사, Ving형이 옴

1-having a value in money, etc.
: (금전 등의 면에서) …의 가치가 있는[되는]
*worth something 
e.g.) 
Our house is worth about £100 000.  우리 집은 약 10만 파운드의 가치가 있다.
How much is this painting worth? 이 그림은 가치가 얼마나 되나요?
to be worth a bomb/packet/fortune (= a lot of money)  거금의[많은] 가치가 있다
It isn't worth much.  그것은 별로 가치가 없다.
If you answer this question correctly, it's worth five points.  이 문제에 맞게 답하면 5점을 얻게 된다.
This order is potentially worth millions of pounds to the company.

2-used to recommend the action mentioned because you think it may be useful, pleasant, etc.
: (권고추천의 뜻으로 써서) ~할 가치가 있는[~해 볼 만한]

3-important, good or pleasant enough to make somebody feel satisfied, especially when difficulty or effort is involved
: (특히 힘이 들거나 애를 써야 하지만) ~의/~할 만한 가치가 있는

Was it worth the effort?  그런 노력을 할 가치가 있나요?
The new house really wasn't worth all the expense involved.
