※ (기존의 것 말고) 딴, 다른 것, 어떤[뭔가] 다른: some other ~~~ / somewhere else / something else / someone else / somebody else,
e.g.) 
Isn’t there some other method we can use?
우리가 쓸 수 있는 어떤 다른 방법은 뭐 없나요?

 

Ref) some장소, some것, some사람. 이런 표현은 저 위의 3가지 표현이 전부다. 나머지는 불가능. 
some방법(X). some이유 (X). some때[시기] (X)

 

 

1) 딴 데[장소], 다른 데[장소]: somewhere else, someplace else, some other place.
e.g.) 
We went to the restaurant and there were too many people, so we went to somewhere else.
거기를 갔는데 사람이 너무 많아서 딴데로 갔어
Ref) 여기 말고 / 다른 곳 할 때는 somewhere else, someplace else, some other place라고 표현.

cf) other place, another place (X) 틀린 표현.
Rsn’) another place 가 안 되는 이유는, another은 보통 추가하는 느낌.
즉, 여기랑 + 또 다른 곳 즉 추가하는 느낌.



2) 딴걸로. 다른 걸로: something else, some other 구체적인 사물 명사.
e.g.) 
something else, some other model, some other brand.



3) 딴사람, 다른 사람: someone else, somebody else, some other 구체적인 사람 명사.
e.g.)
someone else, somebody else, some other person, some other man, some other guy, some other woman, some other girl.

Right after she broke up with him, she immediately met someone else.
그녀는 그와 헤어지고 바로 다른 사람을 만났어.



중요-4) 딴방법, 다른 방법: some other way
e.g.) 
I think we need to find some other way.
우리는 다른 방법을 찾아야해.

cf) someway else (X) 불가능, 없는 단어



중요-5) 딴이유, 다른 이유: some other reason
cf) someway else (불가능, 없는 단어)



중요-6) 딴때[시기]. 다른 때[시기]: some other time
cf) sometime else (불가능, 없는 단어)



중요-7) 딴날, 다른 날: some other day
cf) someday else (불가능, 없는 단어)

cf) another day (X) 틀린 표현.
즉, 이날 + 또 다른 날. 추가의 느낌.
e.g.) 
Tomorrow is another day. 
[속담] 내일이 또 있다. (오늘이 끝이 아니니까 낙심하지 마라)



※ General rule: 
some은 주로 긍정문과 함께 사용되고, any는 부정문/의문문에 주로 사용된다.

여기 돈 좀 줄게. 샌드위치나 뭐 그런 거 사 먹어
